4 Ways to Increase Site Traffic Besides SEO

Despite your best SEO efforts, and due to the time it can take for SEO updates to take effect, sometimes it’s just not possible to rank any higher. So what else can you do to drive traffic to your site? Here are 4 options.

1. Guest/Host Blogging

You have two options on this one: you can either write your own guest post on someone else’s blog, or you can host someone else’s post on your own blog.

Posting as a guest on someone else’s blog allows you to take advantage of their audience and website traffic, while also building and promoting your name, brand or company to a potentially different audience. Plus, adding a linkback to your own site or blog within your guest post will help drive additional clicks as well.

A host blogging strategy is similar, except you’re the one hosting a guest blogger on your site. Once your guest posts on your blog, their promotion of that post will drive their audience to your website to read it. It’s win-win situation.

2. Be a Case Study

Businesses are always on the lookout for customer testimonials. If you help provide a case study to a business you are partnered with, and they publish it on their website, it could send new traffic your way as readers will naturally want to look into the company who’s providing the review.

Case studies not only make the reviewed business look good, but they also make the reviewer look good. If a company is willing to publishs someone’s feedback on their website, it shows that they find that person reputable and important, which will in turn make that person’s company look reputable and important.

3. Promote Others

Promoting and linking to others is an easy and effective way to generate more interest in your business and more traffic to your website. Referencing or linking to other blogger’s content in your own blog, or tweeting or sharing their posts will make those bloggers notice you, and they may return the favor.

4. Share Your Content

If you live in a tight-knit neighborhood, you’ll know that if you share news with only one neighbor, the rest of the neighbors will soon find out about it 🙂 Online communities are much the same! Sharing or submitting your posts, or participating in discussions will give you some of the best visibility and relevant traffic, as you’ll be surrounded by the like-minded. Here are some great online communities that we recommend being a part of:

There are many ways to drive additional traffic to your website, other than just relying on SEO, paid advertising or organic results. These 4 methods are definitely the ‘lowest-hanging fruit’ options for you, and they are all free. They’ll only require an investment in your time to create content, and curate and build your networks and communities.

No matter which method(s) you decide to use, make sure you always do a full analysis of your traffic sources before and after you make changes to your strategic marketing plan, so that you can be sure your changes are relevant and providing a solid ROI.
