Lean back and watch YouTube TV with a new app for your big screen
Today, Oct 30th, YouTube has unveiled the new YouTube TV app built for TV devices. In the next few days, you’ll be able to stream live TV through the new YouTube TV app on Android TV devices including NVIDIA SHIELD and TVs with Android TV built-in, such as Sony, as well as on the Xbox One family of devices (Xbox One, Xbox One S, and soon Xbox One X).
In the coming weeks they’ll also be launching the new app on Smart TVs, such as LG, Samsung, Sony, along with Apple TV. They also recently expanded our TV device support by launching voice commands with Google Home paired with Chromecast.
Here’s what Google announced at its “Made by Google” Pixel event
On October 4, Google held a product launch event in San Francisco. Fast Company’s Daniel Terdiman, Mark Sullivan, and Harry McCracken were there to provide live updates on the news, which included two Pixel phones, low-end and high-end versions of the Google Home smart speaker, a Chrome OS-based laptop-tablet hybrid called the PixelBook, an update to the Daydream headset, Pixel Buds headphones, and the AI-infused Google Clips camera.
Facebook officially rolls out its discovery-focused ‘Explore Feed’
Facebook’s tests of an alternative News Feed dubbed the “Explore” feed have progressed to a full rollout, the company now confirms. Previously available on mobile devices in the main navigation, Facebook’s new Explore Feed is now appearing for users on the desktop, as well. Facebook tells TechCrunch this is the beginning of the official rollout of the Explore feed.
Google has made a significant change to the way AdWords budgets can be used, and the advertising community is not the least bit happy. Campaigns are now able to spend up to twice their average daily budget. The means on high traffic days, costs could soar as high as double the budget you have set.
Google says this change is being made to help advertisers better reach their goals, while noting it’s balanced by days when costs are below budget.
